Atomic Structure

Atomic structure (atoms) is a unit of matter that consists of a nucleus surrounded by protons and neutrons. Inside the nucleus it’s composed of protons and neutrons, the protons are positively charged while the neutrons have no electrical charge. Matter is made up of tiny pieces called electrons. Electrons, protons, and neutrons, are the three basic parts of an atom. Atoms were discovered by John Dalton. John discovered the atom theory by studying elements. A theory is an idea about something.. Dalton theory was based on a conclusion that the atoms of different elements could be recognized by the difference in their weights. His theory was stated in the year of 1803 and it came with a lot of ideas. Basically Dalton believed that atoms of different elements have different masses. People thought his theory wasn’t correct. Until over two thousand years ago proof came about of atoms existence. Since Dalton’s theory, atoms became real.
